Preschool Environment (Inventors)
On the second floor of our building, we have our Preschool and Toddler rooms. The Preschool environment builds on the independence and curiosity promoted in our toddler rooms to help your child get ready to go to big school. By the time your child progresses to Preschool they should be comfortable with more complex day to day routines and be starting to explore more slightly advanced subject areas.
The room is split across two areas, both of which feature an abundance of exciting resources and natural light. Preschoolers still have access to their favourite toys and facilities similar to the Toddler room, but have the added benefit of some more advanced learning spaces, which provide more opportunities for expressive arts and learning about the wider world as well as helping children get an early head start on maths, literacy and writing.

Along with the main classroom, the preschool environment has a dedicated STEAM learning lab, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths. This new type of learning approach aims to provide an environment which promotes an exciting new form of exploration where children can experience a range of concepts and ideas, which further their critical thinking, sparks their imaginations and supports many forms of cognitive growth and development.
The preschool environment is not just another room filled with wonderful and educational toys however, because in this room, equipment and activities are geared toward introducing children to the wonders of science as young as possible. Not only will they learn about everything from insects and dinosaurs to rockets and space, but the learning in this room will also encourage children to engage in fun experiments, create designs, put forward hypotheses and make observations, bringing out their inner inventors!
Like all age groups, the Preschool will also benefit from the use of our all weather indoor/outdoor play space and it’s amazing jungle gym, as well as outdoor trips to extend their learning beyond the nursery and into the wider world!
